The Emmaus Project is an email discussion group reading through the entire Bible in 2013. Our hope is to find and fellowship with Christ in all of Scripture.
All Scripture ultimately points to Christ and Gospel (his works on our behalf). In Luke 24, on the road to Emmaus, Jesus appeared to a couple of his disciples and, "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets....interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself."
As we read through the Bible together this year we are praying for and expecting the Spirit to reveal how each page of Scripture connects to Jesus and his works on our behalf.
Biblical knowledge is not an end in itself but a means to fellowship with the living Christ. In John 5, Jesus rebuked the biblically knowledgeable leaders of his day saying, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life." Jesus is saying that we fail to read the Scriptures rightly when we fail to use them as a means to find and fellowship with him.
So that is our goal this year: To read through the entire Bible in 2013 with a heart to find and fellowship with Christ on every page.
Please join us on the journey!
